A network contractor referral request for a home improvement project is a non-emergency request. Under most conditions, the member will be in contact with a contractor within 48 hours.
How long does it take for a network contractor to contact the member for emergency requests?
A call for assistance with home emergency services is a priority call and, under most conditions, the member will be contacted by a service provider within 1 hour.
Is there a fee for members to use this referral service?
No. Contractor referrals from the AAA Home Improvement & Repair Network are being offered by AAA as a benefit to all members who own a home within the covered areas. The price of the project will be agreed upon by the member and the contractor bidding on the project before work begins.
Do network contractors offer a discount for AAA members?
Network contractors do not offer a price discount for AAA members. The AAA Home Improvement & Repair Network is designed to help take the guesswork out of locating a contractor for your home improvement project or emergency home repair needs. The network contractor referred to you will have passed a thorough pre-screening process and be selected specifically for the needs of your project.
What is the benefit to the AAA member of selecting a network contractor?
Contractor Connection has completed the extensive, time consuming, and critical contractor screening process for the member. Network contractors must possess required state licensing, meet established program insurance coverage, maintain professional facilities and equipment, and perform background checks on their employees who will be on the property site. Participating network contractors may use subcontractors in some instances when handling general contracting assignments. Please note that neither Contractor Connection nor AAA screens or performs background checks on subcontractors.
Are network contractors only credentialed the one time to gain entry into the AAA Home Improvement & Repair Network?
No. Each contractor is required to recertify the following credentials on an annual basis to maintain their status within the network: General Liability Insurance; Auto Liability Insurance; State Licensing; Financial Stability; Agree in writing to provide 5-year workmanship warranty on completed jobs and Good Contractor Performance History within the network.
How does AAA Home Improvement & Repair Network help you get a fair and reasonable estimate?
Network contractors are required to use the same estimating system that is commonly used in insurance restoration work and Contractor Connection's Quality Assurance team reviews all proposals, based on industry standards, to help contractors provide you with a fair and reasonable estimate. You are then able to agree or further discuss your project estimate direct with the contractor.
How does AAA know that network contractors are performing to program standards?
Network contractors are managed for work quality and timeliness by Contractor Connection and, after a AAA Home Improvement & Repair Network referral project is completed, every member is provided a customer satisfaction survey to provide feedback on their experience with the contractor and quality of the contractor workmanship.
How do I become a pre-screened AAA Home Improvement & Repair Network contractor?
The pre-screening process for network contractors is completed by Contractor Connection, the network management company for the program. Contractors who are interested in becoming a pre-screened network contractor can contact the AAA Home Improvement & Repair Network for more information.
